It's Wednesday, April 11, 2007 and a sellout crowd has packed Fenway Park for the 309th straight game. It's 46 degrees at 7:05 p.m. as Daisuke Matsuzaka throws his first ever pitch at Fenway to his fellow Japanese countryman, Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki.

There are 36,630 fans in attendance on this chilly Boston night. Among them is Rob Arra, the best in the business at taking panoramic photographs of sporting events. He snaps DiceK's historic first pitch as the pitcher is in his wind-up, about ready to throw a called strike to Ichiro.

"That was a moment that probably only Daisuke and I could have created," Suzuki would later say.
And now any Red Sox or DiceK fan can be a part of that moment, courtesy of this stunning print.

First Pitch at Fenway - DiceK vs Ichiro

"It wasn't easy to throw with the flashbulbs going off," Matsuzaka said of his first pitch in a home Red Sox uniform. "But I'm glad I got a strike." The much hyped debut of DiceK at Fenway took on even more signifigance because of who that first pitch was against. "He's a hitter that I've wanted to face since my days in Japan," Matsuzaka said of Ichiro, who was 8-for-34 (.235) against Daisuke in the two seasons they squared off in Japan.

For the record, DiceK retired Ichiro on a groundout to the pitcher on a 3-2 count. Matsuzaka retired Suzuki all four times they faced during the game, but the Seattle Mariners beat the Red Sox 3-0 to put a damper on the evening.
