It seems so long ago that the Red Sox were a cursed franchise incapable of winning the big one. My, how the times - and headlines - have changed, and the evidence is in the words and celebration photos that graced the front page of the Boston Herald's two editions on October 29, 2007.
Those front pages have been turned into posters and are now available as keepsakes for the legions of faithful Red Sox fans who live, die and rejoice with the team. Mile High! Sox sweep away Rockies for another Series title exclaims the Herald in their regular edition, which shows closer Jonathan Papelbon jumping for joy after he struck out Colorado's Seth Smith to end the World Series. How Sweep It Is! Sox knock off Rockies for another Series title screams the headline of the Herald's special extra edition touting the Red Sox's World Series sweep. Dustin Pedroia and the rest of his teammates are pictured in the pile-up that began the celebration of Boston's second baseball championship in four years. Poster size: 18" x 24"
