Fenway Park looked even more splendid than usual under the lights for the opening game of the 2007 Fall Classic. The stands were packed, the Citgo sign fully lit up, and the American flag in center field stood still as the World Series got underway at 8:37 p.m. with Colorado's Willy Taveras taking a called strike from Boston ace Josh Beckett. Famed panoramic photographer Rob Arra was in Boston to capture that first pitch, and the ball is shown in motion in this amazingly vivid print.

First Pitch - 2007 World SeriesThe Colorado Rockies had won 21 of their previous 22 games, but proved to be no match for the Red Sox as the 2007 World Series got off to a great start for the BoSox and the 36,733 fans in attendance at Fenway Park with Josh Beckett striking out Willy Taveras, Kaz Matsui and Matt Holliday. In the bottom of the first, Dustin Pedroia became just the second player to homer starting a World Series and the rout was on. Boston won Game 1 by a 13-1 score, setting records for most runs and victory margin in the opening game of a World Series. In this poster you can see Beckett in his leg kick with Taveras in the process of watching strike one go by. Scores of all four games of the 2007 World Series are in the bottom right corner, while the official Red Sox 2007 World Series Champions logo is in the bottom left corner.
